DBSoft History

1990 -
Came into existance and was named after a catch-phrase coined for the Chicago Bulls 1990-1991 championship run.

Electronic Bulletin Board Software was started and was named DBSBBS.

1991 -
DBCram and DBUncram 1.0 released based on the LZ compression algorithm.

1993 -
Sound Blaster WAVE and MIDI kit released.

BMP2DAT bitmap file converter released.

1994 -
Allfiles released to index bulletin board files.

AnsiTrim released to clean extraneous ANSI codes from files.

Config released to provide a menu driven interface for configuring DBSBBS.

DBSTerm released which is a modem terminal emulator for connecting to DBSBBS or other systems.

DBSTime released to calculate time spent in BBS Door external applications to keep time alotment accurate.

DB-OS was started which was a 32-bit graphical operating system that boot-strapped from DOS.

Security Manager a keystroke handler for DOS released.

1995 -
DBSBBS renamed to Infiniti BBS.

Infiniti FIDO mail tosser started.

DBSoft VGA/SVGA/VESA graphical animation kit released.

Manage file manager for Infiniti BBS released.

Menu Maker ANSI interactive menu creater for Infiniti BBS released.

Battle Tide VGA fighting game started.

1996 -
Nuclear Search a CGI based search engine and web crawler started.

SysUsage released which generates statistics of the Infiniti BBS usage.

Infilman a new file manager for Infiniti BBS released and later incorporated into Config for Infiniti.

DBSTerm is revamped and released completely menu driven.

1997 -
Final versions of these applications are released:

Addcomnt - File commenter for Infiniti
Allfiles - Generates a list of all files with FILE_ID info
Average - Calculates Infiniti system averages
Compact - Compacts Infiniti mail databases
Config - Menu driven configuration program for Infiniti
DBAccess - Menu driven Point of Sale system for Century Computers
DBSDir - Directory display utility for use with Infiniti
Install - Menu driven Installation system for DOS
Offcdrom - Generates offline CD-ROM databases
Oldusers - Cleans the Infiniti user database removing old user
Pal2Dos - Converts PAL palette files to DOS VGA format
SStats - Generates an ANSI page of viewable system statistics
TopU&D - Generates an ANSI page of top uploaders and downloaders
Usernote - Updates the users file with level note information

1998 -
Installer/2 1.0 released to install OS/2 applications graphically.

OS/2 ports of Unix software started including BitchX and the soon to be PMBitchX and gtkBitchX.

Everblue PM version of Xlib started.

1999 -
HandyFTP based on the cell toolkit started.

Dynamic Windows cross-platform graphical application toolkit started.

2000 -
HandyFTP based on Dynamic Windows re-started.

Nuclear Visuals plugin for PM123 released.

Installer a cross-platform Dynamic Windows based installer started.

Linux network intermediate driver started.

Nuke's Virtual Terminal OS/2 PM terminal emulator started.

OpenOffice/2 port started.

2001 -
Logview cross-platform Dynamic Windows log file viewer started.

Windows NT/2K/XP virtual and intermediate network drivers started.

Makever cross-platform build packaging system started.

Firewall GUI cross-platform Dynamic Windows firewall monitor started.

Control Center clone of Stardock's Control Center started.

Netgraph ATM FreeBSD support started.

2002 -
FAT32.ifs project taken over.

PHP/MySQL comic book database project started.

JFS4BSD project started.

ProNews/2 yEnc patches encorporated.

FreeBSD netgraph network stack interface implemented.

2003 -
Dynamic Mail cross-platform Dynamic Windows PMMail clone started.

PHP/MySQL contact management system started.

Dynamic Windows based interactive application system started.

2004 -
